Carol Gruber

            Carol was baptized and raised Presbyterian. She and Myron were married in 1967 at the Presbyterian Church in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, where Carol spent her childhood. Carol and Myron joined First of Union in January of 1993, a year after they moved to Union from Waukesha, Wisconsin. In Waukesha, they attended Southminster Presbyterian church, and raised their son, Steve, and daughter, Sheryl.  Carol became an Elder a year after joining First of Union. She played in the bell choir, was a Sunday school teacher and has always been active in Presbyterian Women. In 2001 Carol drove the church van and took a group of seven youths to Ensenada, Mexico, on a mission trip. The summer mission trips continued for 5 years, but with additional drivers/chaperones. Carol has served on the Session for several terms, and in 2003 became the Clerk of Session.  Carol wrote for Horizons, the PC(USA) woman’s magazine, for ten years, writing the “Building Community” department.
